No Place For Prima Donnas - Ismail Sabri

I copy the title exactly like it was from bernama.com. According to the report in bernama, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob today issued a stern warning to national athletes who under-performed at international meets.

As on my previous post in this blog. I was expressing my regret to Malaysian athlete. In badminton, although we reach Olympic Final. In hockey, where we rockbottom when we need to request help from other nation player. In running, where we have lost talent in 100m or 110m hurdle. Remember the likes of Watson Nyambek, Azmi Ibrahim, Romzi Bakar, M.Ramachandran, G.Shanti, Nur Herman Majid. They are all plying their energy in track and field for our country, although their achievement is not so good to be remembered but at least they are there. But are our current athlete there yet? Perhaps, we should put aside few names likes Roslina Samsu and Noraseela.

Back to the title of this post, i say it again i totally agreed with Datuk Ismail Sabri statement. There are enough time, money we pour to some of the athlete but yet there are not perform to what they should do. We believe they are strong enough to hold the challenge thats why MSN,MOM hired foreign coaches for them. Some of them are be sending out to train at oversea. But the result is still not there. So poeple will ask, what happen to this and that fella?. After so much investment, we need the result. We are not desperate but be this is our right. We (Malaysian people) want to know why this and that happened.

Prima Donnas, if there are ones in a team. Absolutely it will harm the team. So if there are many prima donnas then the strict action must be taken. Thats no wrong to give a second chance, to give another opportunity but remember when you are holding a strong position, it comes with great responsibility. If you cant handle it, let it loose.
